Sky+
Sky+ can be installed as a new or existing customer. This requires two
cable feeds from the Sky dish to the Digibox, as the box needs two separate
feeds to allow simultaneous viewing and recording of different channels. The
Sky+ box must also be connected to a UK phone line.
Sky+ offers a better experience for Sky customers. You get a more powerful
set-top box, that allows you to watch one satellite channel while recording
another satellite channel, record programmes without videotape, record two
different channels at the same time, and pause/rewind live TV, for instance
when the phone rings or the doorbell goes.
It also has a feature called 'Series link', which automatically records
episodes of your favourite series, keeping track of schedule changes. Exceptionally
versatile, and highly recommended, the hype says that this will change the
way you watch TV, and for once, it's not wrong!
All of the above features are free if you subscribe to any of the 'Sky World'
packages ('Sky World', 'Sky Sports World' or 'Sky Movie World'). If you subscribe
to any package below this then Sky charge £10 a month for the recording
facility.
